What Time Do the Caucuses Start?
- All caucuses begin at 7 p.m. tonight. Members of the Republican Party of Iowa recommend you be at your precinct prior to 7 p.m. Remember — you don't have to be 18 to vote in the Caucus. So long as you will be 18 by election day (Nov. 6, 2012), you can take part in the caucus.
Do I Have to Be a Republican to Participate?
- Short answer? Yes. Not a Republican? No worries, you can switch teams at the caucus site.
Where Can I Register as a Republican on Such Short Notice?
- You can register as a Republican by bringing a valid photo ID with your current address to your Ames caucus site. If your ID does not display the current address, make sure to bring a document, such as a utility bill, that proves where you live.
How Do I Know Where to Go?
- In order to find the proper caucus precinct, you must know your voter precinct. Information on voter precincts can be found at the Iowa Secretary of State's website. Find your caucus location at the Iowa Democrats website or at the Iowa GOP website.
