Border Searches Laptops or Computers

In the United States , border patrol does not have to hold a warrant to inspect a computer traveling across the border. They can request to view the computer, in which they will browse for any criminal content. This is in order to prevent persons from bringing drugs, contraband, or illegal aliens into or out of the country.

They will analyze not only your files, but your internet caches as well. Temporary Internet files and web history. If you are speculative to the truth in this, look upthe court case of Stuart Romm in 2006. Let it be known, I have no sympathy for what happened to Romm.

So... if you're ever traveling across borders and have stuff to hide from the police. You might want to delete your temporary internet files.
